Excited to share our new publication (with H.Steven Scholte, Maik Derksen, Ingo Willuhn, Heidi Lesscher & Janna Cousijn) on how age of onset and severity of alcohol use influence resting-state brain connectivity.
Karis Colyer-Patel led this study as part of the researchproject Aging Matters, in which we aim to unravel the similarities and differences in neuro-socio-cognitive mechanisms underlying adolescent and adult trajectories of risk and resilience in alcohol and cannabis use.
This study adds an important piece to that puzzle, showing how brain connectivity patterns differ depending on when alcohol use is initiated and how much is consumed.
