Jia-Hua Hsieh (Yvette)
With a background that combines a Research Master in Clinical and Psychosocial Epidemiology and clinical experience as a nurse, I am passionate about recognising and addressing individual differences in health and well-being. In September 2024 I will start my PhD at Erasmus University Rotterdam under the supervision of Dr Janna Cousijn and Dr Emese Kroon. My research interests lie in exploring the dynamic interplay between cannabis use and subjective experiences, including mood, behaviour, symptoms and social context.
My PhD project will take a unique approach by using smartphones for intensive data collection through the Experience Sampling Method (ESM). This method captures daily fluctuations and provides insights into both short-term (daily life) and long-term dynamics. By applying this approach, my research aims to elucidate the complex relationship between cannabis use and mental health, ultimately contributing to a more comprehensive understanding that can inform future regulatory considerations of cannabis.
