Since October 2022, I started my PhD at Erasmus University of Rotterdam under supervision of Janna Cousijn and Heidi Lesscher. Before that I completed a bachelor’s in biology and medical laboratory sciences at the Hogeschool Leiden, and a premaster and master’s in biomedical sciences at Leiden University. During my studies, I was already interested in developmental biology, neuroscience, and neuroendocrinology. During this PhD trajectory, I follow this interest by investigating the development of the brain and the association with risk and resilience to addiction. In my project specifically, I will investigate various biomarkers after cannabis exposure during adolescence versus cannabis exposure during adulthood using animal models. Moreover, during my project human and rodent fMRI data will be collected and compared side to side, investigating the translational aspect.
