As Neuroscience of Addiction (NOFA) lab, our research is mainly focussed on the effects of substance use and addiction on the brain. With different research projects we aim to answer the big, interesting, and societally relevant questions in this field of research. For example, what happens to the human brain when we use cannabis? What is the effect of alcohol on the adolescent brain and does this differ from the effect of alcohol on the adult brain? Do culture and other environmental factors influence the effect substances have on the brain? And why do some heavy users develop an addiction while others do not?
To be able to answer these questions we are often looking for new participants for our ongoing studies. Dependent on the type of study, there are different inclusion and exclusion criteria for participation. Are you interested in participating in one of our studies?
