After graduating from a bachelor’s in psychobiology (neurosciences) and a research master’s in psychology at the University of Amsterdam, I completed my PhD project – focusing on the internal (e.g. sex, cognition, mental health) and external factors (e.g. culture, social interactions) contributing to the development and maintenance of cannabis use disorder – at the University of Amsterdam under the supervision of Janna Cousijn, Reinout Wiers and Francesca Filbey (defense to take place in January 2024).
In September 2023, I joined the Neuroscience of Addiction lab at Erasmus University Rotterdam as a postdoctoral researcher. During this project I will have the opportunity to explore the complex and time-dependent interactions between substance use, mental health, and cognition, using a variety of research methods.
